Summary: Completed restoration of a
100 year old national and international
symbol of the University. The Gate
was restored to its original condition.Structural work included fabrication of solid stainless steel bars to support bronze cladding; 25 foot center cores anchoring the granite columns to original footings; cleaning, refurbishing and application of patina to match the look of the exisiting bronze gate; and re-casting original pieces to replace damaged existing ornamentation. Sather Gate is a registered California Historic Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
